GTA Browser keeps the large game installation, local saves, settings and offline app files primarily inside your browser. The site itself does not require a GTA Browser account. However, this website is hosted through third-party infrastructure and includes optional or embedded services such as Disqus comments, Discord, Google Fonts, Cloudflare-delivered game files and cloud-save features. Those providers may process network, device, cookie or account information under their own privacy terms.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to GTA Browser at gtabrowser.com and describes how the website handles information when you browse the site, install the browser game, use offline mode, manage local saves or mods, or interact with third-party features embedded in the site.
This policy does not replace the privacy policies of independent third-party services. When you use a third-party service, that provider may process information under its own rules and settings.
2. Local game files and browser storage
The core GTA Browser experience is local-first. During the full setup, required game files are downloaded and extracted into browser-managed storage. Depending on the feature, GTA Browser may use:
- Origin Private File System (OPFS) for locally installed game files and related data.
- IndexedDB for browser-side file-system or save-related data used by the runtime.
- Cache Storage for the offline-capable website/app shell.
- localStorage for small preferences such as controls, settings, or locally stored configuration values.
These browser-storage areas are associated with the site origin. Clearing site data, using browser cleanup tools, removing the browser profile, or changing to a different origin can remove or isolate that data.
3. Offline mode and Service Workers
GTA Browser uses a Service Worker so previously cached website files can be available without a network connection and so locally installed game assets can be served from browser storage. The Service Worker also helps route game-file requests between local storage and network sources when needed.
Offline capability does not make third-party services available offline. Comments, Discord, external links, cloud services and other network-dependent features may be unavailable when the device has no internet connection.
4. Saves, mods and files you provide
Save Manager and Mod Manager features are designed to work with files you choose to import, export, replace or back up. Local save and mod files are generally handled in browser storage. You are responsible for keeping your own backups before resetting site data, replacing files, changing domains or testing modifications.
If you choose to use an optional cloud-save feature, the relevant token, save payload or related request data may be transmitted to the cloud-service provider so the feature can work. Do not use cloud features if you do not want that data sent to the external service.
5. Hosting, network logs and security data
GTA Browser is hosted using third-party infrastructure, including Vercel. Like most web hosts and content-delivery systems, hosting providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, requested URL, timestamp, browser or user-agent information, response status, security signals and network diagnostics to deliver and protect the website.
GTA Browser may also use Cloudflare infrastructure or a Cloudflare Worker for delivery of large game archives or related network requests. Those requests may be processed by Cloudflare under its own privacy practices.
6. Disqus comments
The Discussion section uses Disqus, an independent third-party commenting platform. Loading or interacting with Disqus may allow Disqus to process information such as IP address, browser/device information, account information, comments and cookies or similar tracking technologies, depending on your settings and jurisdiction.
Anything you post publicly through Disqus may be visible to other users. Review the Disqus Privacy Policy before using the comments section.
7. Discord and social links
The homepage includes a Discord widget and links to external social platforms. When a Discord embed or another third-party destination loads, that provider may receive normal network information and may use cookies or account information according to its own policies. Leaving GTA Browser through an external link means the destination website's privacy policy applies.
8. External fonts and browser resources
Some GTA Browser pages request fonts or other resources from external providers such as Google Fonts. A request to an external provider necessarily exposes standard network information, including the requesting IP address and browser request metadata, to that provider.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
GTA Browser's own game-installation system primarily relies on browser storage rather than a GTA Browser account cookie. However, embedded or linked third-party services may set or read cookies, local-storage entries, or similar technologies under their own policies. In particular, Disqus describes the use of cookies and similar tracking technologies in connection with its service.
Your browser may let you block or delete third-party cookies, site data and storage. Doing so can disable comments, cloud features, offline mode or locally installed game files.
10. Analytics and advertising
GTA Browser does not currently include a first-party analytics dashboard or the advertising scripts that were previously tested on the project. If analytics, advertising or additional measurement services are introduced later, this policy should be updated before or when those services are deployed.
11. Children's privacy
GTA Browser does not intentionally ask users to create a GTA Browser account or provide their age. Third-party services may impose their own minimum-age requirements. Users who are not old enough to consent to a third-party service under applicable law should not use that service without any consent or supervision required by law.
12. Your privacy choices
You can control much of GTA Browser's local data directly from your browser. Depending on your browser, you may be able to inspect or clear site data, block third-party cookies, restrict permissions, remove the installed PWA, or delete the local game installation. GTA Browser also includes a reset option for local game data.
Requests concerning data held by independent providers such as Disqus, Discord, Vercel, Cloudflare or a cloud-save service must generally be directed to that provider under its own privacy process.
13. Data retention
Local game files and saves remain in browser storage until they are removed by you, the browser, the operating system, a storage-eviction policy, or a reset/cleanup action. GTA Browser does not control how long independent hosting or third-party providers retain their own logs or account data.
14. Security
Reasonable technical design choices are used to keep game data sandboxed within browser storage, but no website, browser storage system or network service can be guaranteed completely secure or permanently available. Keep independent backups of save files you care about.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This policy may be updated when GTA Browser changes its storage architecture, comments system, hosting providers, cloud features, analytics or other third-party integrations. The updated date at the top of this page will be changed when the policy is materially revised.
